Stress from Important Tests

SATs, ACT, LSATs these are a few of the tests some people will have to take before the end of high school. One of the feelings most people experience before large important tests is anxiety. Anxiety is distress or uneasiness of mind caused by fear of danger or misfortune.Studying for a test and preparing for it beforehand can reduce your anxiety. The reason most people have alot of anxiety and stress put on them is because of what you have to lose by failing a test. Tests can put you back in school, delay your entry into a college, and can even prevent your entry into a school. While it is extremely important to be prepared for these tests failing them is not the end of the world.
Lets take the MCAT for example. The MCAT is the Medical College Admissions Test. This is a very important test for anyone trying to get into medical school. This test is required by almost all medical schools. It has 4 parts 3 of which are scored 1-15 and an essay givin a score with the letters J-T with T being the highest grade and J being the lowest. While this is a very important test getting a high grade on the test does not get you into medical school but a low score can keep you out. While you should study as hard as you can the first time you take the test you can take it as many times as you want, but remember when you take the test again it is only helpful if you can improve your score significantly.
The most important thing to remember is to study hard and do your best. Remember that tests are not made to necessarily to hinder you ,but to make sure you are qualified for whatever your doing.

Nick, you especially do not want to get gray hairs early on in college! You need to just relax and study. That is the best thing you can do. Show effort. Effort is what helps you think positive about yourself and make it though the test, exam, quiz, etc.. If you think positively about yourself while you are taking the test; thinking that you can do well on it, they you probably will do well. Just show some effort and your stress level will drop and you will make it through the studying and preparing for the test, hopefully.

I think people should'y get to stressed over school. You can get good grades without stressing out and making sure you memorize absolutely everything. As long as you just get a good general knowledge and pay attention in class you will do fine so chill and dont get grey hairs in college cuz that would be weird.

If you get grey hair in college you have a problem, college is a time of fun and exictement, no need to stress out about those tests, they give you oppertunintties to take it more than once, allow to take a pratice test your sophmore year. But I do agree if you pay attention in class have a general knowledge of everything, and study and understand most of the material you should be alright for the tests.

This is a very important topic I think for some people. For instance look at Erica Robertson she gets so stressed over little quizzes in Mr. Jesons's. This is were our society goes into perfectionist mode. Everyone has the urge to be first whether it is in school work, sports, or in the social aspects of life. The stress put on is sometimes is so great that those students that were once perfectionists are now dead. Grey Hair

I think this is a very good and important topic. Stress definitely comes from taking test because of having the anxiety to know what you could lose by failing a test! I also think another reason why people stress over taking tests is because of class rank. Everyone is always worried about class rank especially if you are in the range of being top 5 or 10!
